Social determinants of health curriculum
The Center for Health Equity and Boston Medical Center collaborated on the development and implementation of robust, hospital-wide curriculum on Social Determinants of Health and Health Inequity.
Hospital-Wide SDH Orientation
As a result of the ongoing collaboration between CIR and BMC, this year’s interns participated in a Social Determinants of Health simulation/workshop in an effort to improve both the training and care received at the hospital.
This annual orientation includes a workshop on what's known as social determinants of health. It’s a recognition that where and how people live, their cultural or religious beliefs, their education and income — all these things affect health.
A Cultural Shift For Doctors: Asking Patients 'Why?'
The Center for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion supports the hospital’s mission, vision and values, publically exhibits BMC’s commitment to equitable care of our patients and staff, and provides national leadership as the country’s model safety net hospital.
